Trained by Steve Ostrow, the man who discovered Bette Midler, acclaimed Sydney cabaret artist Catherine Alcorn has been wowing Australian audiences for over 12 months in her hilarious tribute to ‘The People’s Diva’, in The Divine Miss Bette.

Catherine has been playing her hit show to sold out audiences at Sydney’s most famous cabaret venue Slide, since November 2011 in her monthly residence and is thrilled to announce her 2012 dates.

The temperature never dips for a moment with this show. Alcorn cleverly keeps you hooked with regular infusions of the down-and-dirty earthiness that is so central to Midler’s appeal, and by the standards of today, Midler’s winking brand of vulgarity – the old school naughty jokemistress Sophie Tucker gags, the jubilant camping – seems wholesome.

Then there’s the songs, the nonstop snazz, and of course the bawdy – or as Alcorn puts it “Hitz Glitz and tremendous tits!” Catherine laughs, jokes mingles with the audience and showers them in tart patter.
